Event Preview
The exciting action on the tennis schedule continues at the end of May, as the second Grand Slam of the season takes place. Players will be in action at the French Open, which is the only Slam of the season to be staged on a clay surface. It is traditionally one of the most difficult events to win, with the men’s tournament consisting of a best-of-five sets.
Rafael Nadal has been the dominant player in this Slam throughout history, winning a remarkable 14 Grand Slam titles. The Spanish star has won five of the previous six tournaments in which he has appeared, with his only defeat at the Slam since the start of 2017 coming in the semi-final stage in 2021.

Novak Djokovic will also be among the leading contenders in this event, as he chases a third victory in four editions. The Serbian star was dominant in the French Open last year, landing a dominant victory in the final against Casper Ruud. Interestingly, Djokovic has reached at least the semi-final stage in each of the last six Grand Slams in which he has competed.
Carlos Alcaraz will be the leading contender in the betting this year, as he chases a third Grand Slam success. The Spanish star has an excellent win rate of 79% at the event, and has reached at least the semi-final stage in each of the previous two editions. However, he could be slightly too short in the betting for many this year.
Men’s French Open Prediction
Djokovic continues to set records at the top of tennis, and the path could be set for him to land a second straight French Open success in 2024.
