What Does ‘TT’ Mean in Sports Betting?

what-does-tt-mean

In sports betting, TT almost always stands for “Team Total.”

This is a very simple bet that ignores who wins or loses the game. You are only betting on the total number of points (or goals, or runs) scored by one specific team.

The sportsbook sets a number, and you bet on whether that one team will score Over or Under that amount.

Simple Examples

🏈 Football

  • The Bet: Kansas City Chiefs TT Over 27.5
  • What it means: You are betting that the Chiefs will score 28 or more points.
  • You win if: The Chiefs score 28, 30, 35, (or more) points.
  • You lose if: The Chiefs score 27 or fewer points.

🏀 Basketball

  • The Bet: Los Angeles Lakers TT Under 105.5
  • What it means: You are betting that the Lakers will score 105 points or less.
  • You win if: The Lakers score 105, 104, 103, (or fewer) points.
  • You lose if: The Lakers score 106 or more points.
  • (It doesn’t matter if they win or lose the game, only their final score.)

⚽ Soccer

  • The Bet: Manchester City TT Over 1.5
  • What it means: You are betting that Manchester City will score 2 or more goals.
  • You win if: Manchester City scores 2, 3, 4, (or more) goals.
  • You lose if: Manchester City scores 0 or 1 goal.
  • (It doesn’t matter if they win 2-1, lose 2-3, or draw 2-2. You only care about their team’s total.)
