Fight Preview
One of the biggest potential showdowns in the heavyweight division could finally be announced this summer. A fight pitting Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has been discussed for years, but talks have broken down due to demands of the former heavyweight champions.
A potential must-win showdown between the stars would grab the mainstream attention, and it will be regarded as a must-not-lose bout for both stars. Joshua will need to get his career back on track after suffering a fourth professional defeat at the hands of Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
The fifth-round stoppage defeat at Wembley signalled the fall from grace that Joshua has endured, but he has won three of his last four fights via knockout.

Tyson Fury is still officially retired, but the Gypsy King has teased a potential return to the ring in recent weeks. Fury has opened talks revolving a third showdown with Usyk, but his back-to-back commanding defeats means that there may be limited interest in a trilogy.
Instead, Fury may need to stamp his authority back on the heavyweight division with a statement victory. He hasn’t been in action in 2025, and was last seen losing against Usyk by unanimous decision in December 2024. Therefore, the Gypsy King hasn’t recorded a victory since a controversial success against Francis Ngannou in October 2023.
Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua Picks
Should a heavyweight showdown between Joshua and Fury take place, it will be an unmissable event.
However, Joshua’s recent performances have been below the standard required, meaning that there is a strong chance that Fury could claim success with a dominant TKO win.
