Race Preview

All eyes will be on Spa-Francorchamps as Formula 1 action resumes on July 27. The Belgian Grand Prix will see drivers compete across a total of 191.398 miles, with a maximum of 44 laps being completed. Michael Schumacher holds the record for the most race wins, while Ferrari is the leading constructor with 18 victories.

The race will see the battle resume between McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, with the Drivers’ Championship looking as though it is between the teammates in 2025. Norris holds the recent advantage after winning each of the last two races, with the Brit taking full advantage at the British Grand Prix last time out after Piastri was handed a ten-second penalty.

However, the positive story from Silverstone came in the form of Nico Hulkenberg achieving a first career podium. Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fourth in his home race, as the Ferrari appeared to lack pace in the second half of the race. Charles Leclerc didn’t fare much better after finishing down in 14th.

It was also a frustrating race for Mercedes, with George Russell’s ambitious strategy ultimately seeing him finish down in tenth. Teammate Kimi Antonelli was forced to retire for the third time in four races.

Red Bull also underperformed at Silverstone, with Max Verstappen only managing fifth. However, the reigning world champion’s ability to get the maximum out of the car in qualifying ensures that he will be a threat in Belgium.

Belgian Grand Prix Picks

Despite unpredictable weather conditions being likely, it is still challenging to overlook McLaren’s dominance coming to an end. But, we could see Piastri striking back in the title scrap by claiming a much-needed win.
