Match Preview
The exciting action on the F1 schedule continues this weekend, as the Belgian Grand Prix will be staged at the Spa. This race was first run in 1925, and has been an ever-present on the schedule since 1983. The field will complete a total distance of 308.052 km at the Spa, with the drivers completing a total of 44 laps. Michael Schumacher is the most successful driver in the event, landing six career victories.
For the first time this season, a championship race appears to be taking shape. Max Verstappen’s frustrations boiled over in Hungary in the previous round, finishing back in fifth and he was also hugely fortunate to avoid a penalty after colliding with Lewis Hamilton when battling for third. The Brit followed up his win at Silverstone by claiming a 200th career podium.

However, much of the drama at the Hungaroring was at the front of the grid, as Lando Norris overtook Oscar Piastri following the final round of pit stops. But, team orders saw Piastri given the place back, but Norris wasn’t exactly thrilled at the prospect of letting his teammate through, as he was looking for a big-scoring weekend to close the gap on Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship.
But, it was a hugely successful weekend for McLaren, who rose up to second in the Constructors’ Standings with a one-two finish. They are now just 51 points behind Red Bull, while Ferrari is a place further back in third. The battle at the top of the standings could be one of the most engaging sub-plots to follow in the second half of the season.
Belgian Grand Prix Prediction
Norris showed his excellent pace throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix, and the McLaren driver could be set for another positive weekend when he looks for a second career victory on Sunday.
