Event Preview
The action on the Formula 1 schedule steps up a gear at the end of July, as another competitive race is set in the form of the Belgian Grand Prix. This race was first staged in 1925, and the field will complete a total of 308.052 km to make up the race distance.
Kimi Antonelli endured a mixed weekend at Silverstone last time out, winning the Sprint, before fading out of the points due to an issue with his car in the final ten laps. George Russell finished second, enabling him to close the gap on his championship rival.
Ferrari flexed their muscles at Silverstone, with Lewis Hamilton taking second in the Sprint and third in the Grand Prix. It was also a memorable weekend for Charles Leclerc, who ended his two-year wait for a victory. The pace in the corners bodes well for the team’s chances in Belgium.
In contrast, Red Bull endured a frustrating weekend, with Max Verstappen failing to finish a third race of the season. Oscar Piastri in the McLaren also struggled, eventually finishing outside of the points.
Belgian Grand Prix Picks
This will be another straight fight between Ferrari and Mercedes. However, it could be a perfect opportunity for Antonelli to strike back after the disappointing end to his Grand Prix at Silverstone.
