Event Preview
The seventh race of the Formula 1 season sees the first stop in Europe this term. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix has been on the schedule since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the drivers completing a total distance of 192.034 miles. A total of 63 laps will be completed at the circuit in Imola, with Max Verstappen having been the dominant driver in the event, having won three of the four editions.
However, his winning sequence in Italy could come to an end in 2025 based on the performances of McLaren so far this season. Oscar Piastri has taken a vice-like grip on the race for the Championship, having won each of the last three races, and four of the last five. The Australian has overshadowed his teammate in 2025, with Lando Norris winning just once in six races.

As is typically the case for a home race, there will be a lot of pressure on Ferrari to get their season back on track this weekend. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc both endured miserable races in Miami, with both drivers struggling to keep pace with a Williams, as well as Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes.
Mercedes could be the second-fastest team on the grid at present, and huge confidence can be gained from George Russell’s start to the season. Russell has finished on the podium in four of the six races. Max Verstappen will also be hoping for a better weekend after finishing only fourth in Miami, as his grip on the championship looks to be fading.
