Race Preview
The curtain comes down on the European leg of the Formula 1 schedule this weekend, as the prestigious Italian Grand Prix is held at Monza. This weekend’s race will be contested over a distance of 190.596 miles, which is made up of 53 laps. Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are tied for most wins in Italian Grand Prix history.
All eyes will be on Ferrari this weekend, as the Scuderia have the second of their home races in 2025. Hopes will be mixed, but a repeat of last weekend’s double DNF would be a disaster. Ferrari remain in pole position to finish second in the Constructors’ Championship.

Last weekend could be pivotal in the championship picture, as Oscar Piastri opened up a near-40 point advantage over teammate Lando Norris. The Australian was dominant throughout the race, but McLaren hopes of a one-two finish were dashed after Norris was forced to retire due to an engine issue.
Max Verstappen was one of the beneficiaries from his retirement, as the Dutchman took second in his home Grand Prix. Meanwhile, there was a famous first podium finish for Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar, who held off George Russell expertly.
Italian Grand Prix Picks
McLaren looks incredibly difficult to oppose this weekend after looking clear of the field based on their performance in the Netherlands. We could foresee Piastri extending his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship with another dominant performance.
