Event Preview
The world’s best players will be in action at Caves Valley Golf Club this weekend, as the Maryland course hosts the BMW Championship. This event has been on the PGA Tour since 2007, and the top-50 ranked players will be in action over the 7,366-yard course.
An enthralling opening event of the playoffs saw a captivating final round at TPC Southwind, with a playoff eventually seeing Justin Rose outlast J.J. Spaun in the St. Jude Championship. Tommy Fleetwood had appeared on course to claim a first PGA Tour win, but his final round saw his chances slip away.

As is typically the case, Scottie Scheffler will be the player to beat this weekend. The American finished a shot off the lead at the St. Jude Championship last weekend, continuing his run of finishing in the top eight on his last 12 starts.
Rory McIlroy should be fresh this weekend after bypassing the St. Jude Championship. McIlroy has returned to form since his Masters hangover in recent months, finishing in the top ten on his last three starts. Well-rested since The Open, and impossible to rule out his claims.
Rose continued his excellent campaign with a victory last weekend, and that could bode well for the BMW Championship. In the 18 years of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, on eight occasions players have won back-to-back events to start the series.
BMW Championship Picks
A red-hot edition of the BMW Championship is set for this weekend, but I’m keen on the chances of Ludvig Aberg. The Swede has finished in the top ten on two occasions at the event, and he finally looked back to near his peak following injury when taking a share of ninth last time out.
