Event Preview
The high-quality action on the DP World Tour draws to a close this weekend, as the DP World Tour Championship is staged in Abu Dhabi. This weekend’s event has been held annually since 2009, with the Race to Dubai forming an integral part of the inaugural edition.
The field will compete over a total distance of 7,675 yards at the Jumeirah Golf Estates, with players competing for their share of the $10 million purse. Henrik Stenson holds the record scores, finishing 25-under with an aggregate score of 263 in 2013.
Nicolai Hojgaard was the winner of the most recent edition of the DP World Tour Championship, but he is one of five former champions who won’t be involved this weekend. Therefore, the door could be open for Rory McIlroy.
