Event Preview
PGA Tour action takes place in California this weekend, as the Farmers Insurance Open is staged at Torrey Pines. This event has been a regular part of the calendar since being introduced in 1952, with players competing over 7,765 yards for their share of the $9 million purse.
The stroke play event has been won by a number of legendary players throughout history. Among those is Tiger Woods, who holds the joint record for aggregate finish after finishing 22-under when landing success in 1999. Woods also holds the record for most victories at the event after landing seven wins between 1999 and 2013.

Max Homa could be a solid place to start this weekend when it comes to assessing the most likely contenders. The American finished two shots clear of the field to claim victory last year, and he comes into the event in California after a respectable finish in a tie for 14th at The Sentry earlier this month.
Collin Morikawa heads the betting this weekend, as the 26-year-old looked back to somewhere near his best when finishing in a tie for fifth at The Sentry. But, there could be a lot of value in the market this weekend, with Sahith Theegala and Luke List both showing excellent form at the course in recent editions of the competition.

It hasn’t been the best year or so for Will Zalatoris, but he could be an interesting contender to bounce back to form this weekend. Zalatoris previously finished second following a playoff in 2022, while Xander Schauffele would be a cover play for us this weekend after being incredibly consistent on the PGA Tour.
