Event Preview
The action on the DP World Tour continues this weekend, as the Irish Open will be staged at Trump International Golf Links. This event was first staged in 1927, and the field will be competing for their share of the $6 million purse in Ireland across the coming weekend.
All eyes will be on Rory McIlroy, as the 37-year-old will be a hometown hero this weekend. McIlroy is a two-time winner of the Irish Open, and plenty of positives can be taken from his recent T4 finish at the TOUR Championship.
Jon Rahm has enjoyed an excellent year on LIV, winning the Individual Championship for the second season running. The Spaniard was last seen finishing as the runner-up at the Indianapolis event, and he holds the tournament record at the Irish Open.
