Event Preview
One of the newest events on the PGA Tour schedule is staged this weekend, as the Rocket Classic is held at the Detroit Golf Club. This weekend’s event is a par 72 event, and covers a total distance of 7,370 yards. Cameron Davis comes into the event as the defending champion, while the par and aggregate records are held by 2022 champion Tony Finau.
The stroke play event boasts a purse of $9.2 million, and has attracted a competitive field for the 2025 event. Collin Morikawa will be the leading contender in the betting, but he will need to bounce back to form after finishing in a tie for 42nd in the Travelers Championship.

Alex Noren could be an interesting challenger based on the prices. The Swede has bounced back to form after making the cut in four of his last five appearances since injury.
Taylor Moore also has a consistent record on the PGA Tour, taking two top 25 finishes in two of his last four appearances.
Cameron Young should also not be underestimated after finishing in the top five on back-to-back appearances before last weekend’s Travelers Championship.
Rocket Classic Picks
Patrick Cantlay looks like the standout player this weekend. He finished in a tie for 12th last weekend, and he has previous experience at the course after finishing as the runner-up on his only previous appearance at the Detroit Golf Club in 2022.
