Event Preview
Few events on the golf schedule garner the same level of excitement as the Ryder Cup. It will pit the best players from the United States against the stars from Europe, with hosting responsibilities altering between the teams with every edition.
This year’s event will be staged at Marco Simeone Golf and Country Club in Rome. It will be the first time that the prestigious event has been staged at the Italian course after winning the bid in 2015. However, it has hosted events on the world golf tour in the past, with the Italian Open staged at the location annually.

The United States come into the event as the defending champions after storming to success in a dominant fashion at Whistling Straits in 2019. However, Team Europe boast a strong recent record at the Ryder Cup, as they have won four of the previous six.
Furthermore, Team Europe has won each of the six editions of the tournament that have been staged on their home course. The U.S. team looks strong on paper with Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, and Patrick Reed having already booked their spots. However, the European team looks to be in excellent form, with Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, and Rory McIlroy hitting momentum at the right time.
