Race Preview
The G1 Arlington Million is one of the summer features on the racing calendar, and a huge capacity crowd is expected at Colonial Downs for the track’s biggest race of the season. A talented field of eight runners will be involved this Saturday, with the contenders covering a total distance of 1 1/4 miles.
Integration will be a red-hot contender for the Claude McGaughey stable. The five-year-old will be aiming to get back to winning ways after finishing second on three of his four starts this season. Last time out, he was beaten a head by Deterministic in the G1 Manhattan Stakes, but this step up in distance promises to suit his chances.

Mystik Dan is a fascinating runner for Kenneth McPeek, as the 2024 Kentucky Derby winner chases a first victory on the turf. The four-year-old was well held by Mindframe in the G1 Stephen Foster Stakes at the end of June, but he thrives over extended distances.
Fort Washington should also not be underestimated this weekend. The six-year-old was fourth behind Brilliant Berti on his latest start, but a return to a mile and two should suit his chances. He already has wins to his name this season after landing the G3 Canadian Turf Stakes and G3 Dinner Party Stakes.
Arlington Million Stakes Picks
At the prices, Cairo for trainer Alice Haynes looks like a solid chance. The contender was previously trained by Aidan O’Brien, and he looked back to his very best when finishing a close third behind Dockland and Rosallion in the high-quality G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.
That is clearly the best form on offer in this race, and the step back up in distance poses few questions after already running a strong race behind The Foxes in the G2 Huxley Stakes at Chester. Ticks plenty of boxes and has little to find on ratings.
