Event Preview
The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes will be the main race on Friday’s card at Pimlico, as the anticipation rises ahead of the Preakness Stakes. This week’s race will be run by fillies aged three, and it will be competed over a distance of 1 1/8 miles on the dirt.
It hasn’t been as high-class of an event at the Kentucky Oaks in recent memory, with the winner of the race at Churchill Downs typically overlooking running in the Black-Eyed Susan.
However, there could be a potential superstar unearthed in the race this year. Margie’s Intention makes her first start for trainer Brad Cox after finishing as the runner-up behind Blue Fire on two occasions at Fair Grounds. Huge improvement expected with Flavien Prat aboard.

Kinzie Queen could be one of the most interesting runners at a bigger price. She has the speed figures to form into a graded stakes performer, and she was visually very impressive when winning in allowance company last time out.
