Race Preview
Important clues ahead of the Breeders’ Cup will be on offer this weekend, as the G1 Natalma Stakes offers a first look at some of the talented two-year-old fillies that could be in action on the Friday at the world-famous meeting. This weekend’s race at Woodbine will be run over a mile on the turf, and a notable international raider could be hard to overlook.
Charlie Appleby typically achieves notable raids when he sends runners to North America, and Dance To The Music could be exceptionally difficult to beat in Canada. The talented filly has won on both of her two career starts, including when landing success by a neck in the G3 Sweet Solaria Stakes last time.

Deep Learning could be the leading American chance this weekend for respected trainer Chad Brown. The two-year-old was an excellent winner on debut over 1 1/16 miles at Saratoga, and this drop back to a mile shouldn’t represent too many issues for the speedy filly.
Sweet Fusion could also be a runner open to a lot of progress from Mark Casse’s stable on Saturday. She has already shown her quality at Woodbine this year, winning over six furlongs, before being narrowly beaten in the Catch A Glimpse. The step up to a mile could see her reverse the form with Corsia Veloce.
Natalma Stakes Picks
Appleby doesn’t normally get it wrong when sending top prospects to North America, and there is a lot of substance to Dance To The Music’s Group Win at Newmarket last time. If transferring that form to Woodbine, she could be a standout winner this weekend.
