Event Preview

The 2026 Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf serves as one of the main races on the undercard at Gulfstream Park this weekend. For the fifth straight year, it will be contested over a distance of 1 1/16 miles, and plenty of runners will have leading chances.

Whiskey Decision deserves respect as a runner from the Chad Brown stable, with Flavien Prat booked to take the ride. The five-year-old has impressed during her career, winning twice from five starts in stakes company. A stamina test will play in her favor based on her win in the Athenia Stakes last September.

In Our Time is also an excellent contender with progressive quality. The five-year-old represents the Saffie Joseph stable, and she has already shown her class at Gulfstream, finishing a very close second over a mile in the De La Rose Stakes in July. Often finishes in the money, but the fact that she regularly comes second may be a negative.

Classic Q is the runner for trainer Mark Casse on Saturday. The four-year-old filly was a fast-finishing third in the G3 Mrs Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs on her latest start. Should be primed for a strong run on this return to Gulfstream, having narrowly been beaten over a mile by under a length at the track in March.

Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf Picks

Crevalle d’Oro could be a very interesting contender at a bigger price in the Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

The runner for the Jose Francisco D’Angelo yard has been progressive during her time on track, and reached new heights on her latest outing when winning over a mile at Gulfstream in the Suwannee River Stakes. Bred to excel over further, and has the ratings to upset the odds.
