Coronation Stakes Picks

The feature on day four at Royal Ascot comes in the form of the G1 Coronation Stakes, which is run by three-year-old fillies over a mile. Falakeyah has added further intrigue to the race after being supplemented by the Owen Burrows team. However, Zarigana has the form in the book to suggest that she is the one to beat.

The French raider was the winner of the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches on her latest start, beating She’s Perfect for the second successive time this season. Those fillies look above average in this year’s crop, and she could score at the highest level again at Ascot.

Free Pick:

  • Zarigana

Commonwealth Picks

The big sprint race of the day at Ascot comes in the form of the G1 Commonwealth Cup, which covers a distance of six furlongs. Charlie Appleby-trained Shadow Of Light looks like a serious contender after finishing third on his return to action.

However, the high-class Jonquil could make the most appeal for the in-form Andrew Balding team. The three-year-old was only narrowly touched out by Henri Matisse in the French 2000 Guineas in May, but he has winning experience over shorter trips, including in Group Three company when getting the better of Rashabar in April.

Free Pick:

  • Jonquil
