Daytona 500 Specials Picks

There are few more exciting motorsport events on the U.S. calendar than the Daytona 500. Annually, capacity crowds attend the opening race of the Cup Series at Daytona Beach, with the winning driver crowned following 500 miles and 200 laps of the circuit.

One of the best betting angles will be for a first-time winner of the Daytona 500. Repeat victors in the world-famous race are a rarity, with William Byron joining a select group to win the race in back-to-back editions in 2025. However, the trend of shock winners could return in 2026.

There is also value in siding with the total number of caution flags being over 7.5. Flags are common throughout the race, with one of the most iconic editions coming back in 2011 when a record 16 cautions were flagged.

However, on average, between seven and ten cautions are likely in the Daytona 500, meaning that odds of -190 on over 7.5 is a solid betting angle this weekend.
