Event Preview
The first road course event on the NASCAR calendar for 2026 is set for this weekend, with the iconic Circuit of the Americas playing host to the DuraMax Grand Prix. This race has been staged on the calendar since 2021, with the drivers expected to complete a total of 95 laps to make up the race distance.
Tyler Reddick is the obvious driver to consider this weekend, as the current leader of the Drivers’ Championship followed up his success in the Daytona 500 with a professional win in last weekend’s Autotrader 400. His dominant start to the season should be respected, and his dominance may continue.
Brad Keselowski and Shane van Gisbergen typically excel on road course tracks, and they should be considered after recording some positive finishes at the start of the season. The former finished fifth in the Daytona 500 a few weeks ago.
Chase Elliott remains one of the most popular drivers on the grid, and his form at the start of the season has been reliable, finishing eleventh last time out after taking fourth at Daytona earlier this month.
There is likely to be increased pressure on Kyle Larson on Sunday, as the reigning champion has made a slow start to the 2026 season. So far, Larson is yet to finish in the top 15.
DuraMax Grand Prix Picks
Chase Briscoe looks like a standout selection this weekend. Briscoe finished an excellent second in the Autotrader 400 last weekend, and he typically excels at the Circuit of the Americas.
