Event Preview
The Goodyear 400 forms the sixth race on the NASCAR calendar for 2026, with the drivers completing a total distance of 400.238 miles at Darlington Raceway on Sunday. A total of 293 laps will be covered to make up the race distance, with David Pearson being the most successful driver in the race’s history.
Tyler Reddick continues to lead the Drivers’ Championship, despite his three-race winning run coming to an end a few weeks ago. Last weekend, Reddick could only finish 13th in the Pennzoil 400, marking his worst result so far this term.
Denny Hamlin landed victory in last weekend’s race, marking a first win of the season. Hamlin has also achieved top ten finishes in each of his last three starts to sit fourth in the current standings.
Bubba Wallace is a shock contender at this early stage of the season. Wallace has been driving extremely consistently, taking top-ten finishes in four of the five races. However, he will once again be a major outsider in the betting to win this weekend.
Reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is showing signs of getting back into form after finishing seventh in the Pennzoil 400. Chase Elliott finished second last time out, meaning that he has now finished in the top four on two occasions in 2026.
