The race to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship heats up this weekend, as the final 12 spots in the playoffs will be determined in Tennessee. The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is the final evening race of the season, as drivers look to ensure their finish in the top 12 of the standings.
This race has been staged since 1961, with the drivers completing 500 laps to make up the 266.5 mile race distance. The first two stages both consist of 125 laps apiece, while the final stage will see the remaining 250 laps contested. Darrell Waltrip is the most successful driver in the history of the race with seven wins.
