Event Preview
The new-look NASCAR schedule will bring with it fresh challenges for the drivers, beginning this weekend as the regular season takes a break following The Great American Getaway 400 to make room for the In-Season Challenge. The regular season doesn’t resume until the Iowa Corn 350 at the start of August.
This weekend’s race has been on the NASCAR schedule since 1974, and the drivers will need to complete a total of 400 miles. The first stage consists of 30 laps, before 65 laps are completed in each of the final two stages. Chevrolet is the leading manufacturer, while Hendrick Motorsports holds the record as the team with the most wins.

William Byron has been the driver to catch throughout 2025 to this point, but his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship is looking in danger after having failed to win since the Daytona 500. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are among the drivers in hot pursuit.
Christopher Bell has also largely been consistent on track this term, winning three races in the opening four. Chase Elliott, Tyler Reddick, and Ross Chastain also look like likely contenders that will enter the playoff hunt as the season progresses, and all will have a fighting chance at Pocono on Sunday.
The Great American Getaway 400 Picks
Denny Hamlin looks like the percentage play based on his record-setting seven victories in the race. Hamlin sits third in the current standings, and he has already recorded three race victories in 2025. A fourth could arrive at one of his most favorable tracks.
