Event Preview

The third race of the NASCAR In-Season Challenge is set for this weekend, as Sonoma Raceway hosts the Toyota Save Mart 350. This weekend’s race has been a part of the NASCAR schedule since 1989, and the field will complete a total distance of 218.9 miles. The race distance is made up of 110 laps, with the final stage seeing the final 50 completed.

Kyle Larson has been the dominant driver in recent editions of the race, winning two of the last four renewals. That includes a success in the Toyota Save Mart 350 last year. However, Larson will need to get his form back on track after finishing outside of the top ten in each of the last two races, and three of the last four.

New Zealander Shane Van Gisbergen will once again be a solid favorite following a second race win in four last time out. Meanwhile, Chase Elliott brings reliable recent form to the table. The former champion has won once this season, and has achieved top five finishes in three of the last four races.

William Byron will once again be under pressure this weekend. The current leader in the Drivers’ Championship is yet to win since the Daytona 500, and he has finished outside of the top 20 in each of the last three races.

Toyota Save Mart 350 Picks

Plenty have leading claims in a competitive race on the NASCAR schedule. However, a chance could be taken on the in-form Alex Bowman. The driver has finished in the top five in two of the last four races, and he has finished no worse than eleventh over the same period.
