The 31st race on the NASCAR schedule for 2024 takes place in Alabama this weekend, as the YellaWood 500 forms the second race of the round of 12 in the playoffs. This race was first staged in 1969, and the field will cover a total distance of 500.08 miles. A total of 188 laps will be covered, with the final stage seeing the dramatic final 68 laps contested.

Dale Earnhardt was the dominant driver in the history of the race, winning on seven occasions. Meanwhile, Richard Childress Racing remains the most successful team in the history of the YellaWood 500, winning on eight occasions.

There was a dramatic start to the round of 12 last weekend, as Ross Chastain was the unlikely winner of the Hollywood Casino 400. He will be hoping to build on that success to enhance his chances of a place in the next round of the playoffs this weekend.

William Byron currently leads the way in the Drivers’ Championship. Bryon finished second in the race last weekend, marking his first return to the podium since taking second in the FireKeepers Casino 400. However, Ryan Blaney and Christopher Bell are both within striking distance of the top of the standings.

YellaWood 500 Prediction

Another exciting race is set for this weekend, and a number of drivers have leading chances. However, we will be siding with Chase Elliott getting his title bid back on track by landing victory in the YellaWood 500 for the second time in three editions.
