Hall of Fame Game Chargers vs. Lions Preview, Odds, Lines, Predictions (July 31)
- Hall of Fame game Chargers vs. Lions marks the start of the NFL Preseason.
- Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers had the toughest defense last season, 17.7 pts per game.
- The Lions, on the other hand, scored the most points in the NFL, 33.2 per game.
It’s interesting that the Hall of Fame game will take place between the team that allowed the fewest points in the NFL last year and the one that scored the most. Of course, neither Harbaugh nor Campbell will go out with their best units, but we should still see a glimpse of their talent.

Game Preview
For sure, the Chargers won’t back out on their usual style, which is rigid defense and a bit of slow-paced football. After all, one of the Harbaugh brothers leads this team. We expect to see Taylor Heinicke and Trey Lance battling for the second string at the QB position, and they should split reps here.
Knowing Harbaugh, he will be more focused on seeing what he has in defense at this year’s draft. Dfenders RJ Mickens and Trikweze Bridges are bound to get reps here and possibly play the entire game.
Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen also await their battle for Jared Goff’s replacement. Additionally, they need to adapt to the new OC, John Morton, who will face a significant challenge ahead of him.
Isaac TeSla, the third-rounder WR, should be the center of attention. We believe that the former Arkansas star will immediately receive targets to help him feel adjust to pro football, as the Lions will rely on him heavily when the season begins.
Hall of Fame Game Predictions
The total for points is set at 32.5 points, and that’s too low here, because both teams have solid QBs, who have already experienced the NFL regular season pressure. They are not rookies but players who already had starts, so we pick over here.
