Darnold and Maye Leading the Way
Throughout Super Bowl history, quarterbacks have been at the center of attention and have won most Super Bowl MVP awards, often playing for the winners.
In this case, Sam Darnold, as Seattle’s QB, leads the way here because his team is the favorite coming into the February 8 matchup. Darnold has been solid all season, though we can’t say his performances were better than Maye’s. But his team is the favorite, which explains the odds.
Maye is the top NFL MVP candidate right now. And if his team wins here, the Super Bowl MVP honors will probably end up in his hands. This 23-year-old has been doing it all, especially in the playoffs, where he ran very well, in most cases bringing vital downs or points for his team.
Dark Horses
What about Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Kenneth Walker III? Or Rhamondre Stevenson or even maybe Stefon Diggs? Hm? All these guys can explode and bring the Vince Lombardi trophy to their team and the city.
JSN is arguably the best wide receiver in the league, and Walker is indispensable for the attack, particularly since Seattle’s other RB, Zach Charbonnet, is injured.
On the other hand, Stvenson is New England’s workhorse, while Stefon Diggs is…. well, Stefon Diggs. We all know he can go berserk and, like, generate 100+ receiving yards with two big plays and a couple of touchdowns whenever he wants.
