Event Preview
The 2025 Champions League final is set for Saturday, as PSG and Inter Milan collide for Europe’s most prestigious prize. PSG have enjoyed a sensational season under Luis Enrique, despite nearly slipping out of the Champions League in the new-look League Phase format.
Since then, they have dominated in the knockout rounds, eliminating Premier League sides Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Arsenal. In truth, they were extremely comfortable in the semi-finals against the Gunners, winning 1-0 on the road before wrapping up their spot in the final with a 2-1 success in Paris.

Inter Milan have been our pick to win the tournament since before a ball was kicked in the Champions League in 2024-25. After overcoming Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals, the Italian side played out a classic against Barcelona in the final four, eventually coming through 7-6 on aggregate.
This weekend’s clash will be the first meeting between Inter and PSG, and it will only be the second time that teams from France and Italy have collided in the European Cup final. On the previous occasion, Marseille beat AC Milan 1-0 in 1993.
PSG will be making their second appearance in the Champions League final, having previously lost to Bayern Munich in 2020. But, it could be worth noting that French teams have won just one of their seven previous appearances in the European Cup final.
Inter will be making their seventh appearance in the European Cup final. They have won three of their previous finals, but their most recent appearance ended in a 1-0 defeat against Man City in 2023.

I have been incredibly bullish about Inter’s chances of winning the Champions League throughout the season, and this weekend isn’t the time to lose faith.
Their counter-attacking style will play perfectly against a possession-based PSG in Munich, and their clinical nature in front of goal could yet be their biggest asset in the final against the Parisians, who were largely wasteful in front of goal against Arsenal in the previous round.
