Match Preview

Canada have an excellent chance of recording a second success at the Gold Cup this millennium in 2025, and they have progressed quickly under Marsch since his appointment last summer. The nation will be aiming for a bold run in the tournament this summer ahead of hosting the 2026 World Cup.

However, Canada will be aiming to get back on track after playing out a frustrating draw against Curacao on Saturday evening. Nathan Saliba had opened the scoring for Canada, but Curacao took a shock point after levelling the scores in the 94th minute.

El Salvador still have slim hopes of progressing from Group B, but they will need to claim a victory over Canada and hope that results go in their favor.

The nation are yet to win in their two outings this summer, and they have also failed to score in matches against Curacao and Honduras. Therefore, they will be massive outsiders in the betting to shock Canada on Tuesday.

Head-to-Head Record

Canada has an excellent record against El Salvador, winning four of the seven previous head-to-head clashes. That includes a 2-0 win in World Cup qualification in February 2022.

Canada vs. El Salvador Picks

Canada’s shock draw against Curacao indicates that they still have some way to go before the World Cup next summer. However, they should have the quality to get back on track when they take on El Salvador on Tuesday.
