Match Preview
A repeat of last season’s FA Cup final is set for Saturday, as Man United chase revenge on Man City following a 2-1 defeat in 2023. It is only the second time in the history of the prestigious tournament that the same two teams have contested successive finals following Blackburn and Queen’s Park in 1984 and 1985.
City have already won both league meetings against United this term, scoring six goals across the Premier League clashes. However, City haven’t recorded three wins against the Red Devils in the same season since the 1969-70 campaign. But, they will be heavy favorites against their illustrious rivals this weekend.

United’s recent record against City is extremely poor, as they have lost six of their last seven. That includes defeats in each of their last three. However, United have landed wins in five of the last seven FA Cup clashes between the teams, but their only defeats have come at Wembley; in the semi-final in 2011 and last season’s final.
City assured their progression through to the final with a narrow 1-0 win over Chelsea at the start of the month. However, United needed penalties to overcome Coventry City after throwing away a 3-0 advantage in the final 20 minutes against their Championship rivals.
Man City vs Man United Prediction
United will have more defenders at their disposal this weekend, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane both expected to start. However, City have been strong throughout the second half of the season. We could see both teams scoring, but a repeat result from last year’s final could be a solid selection.
