Match Preview
Erik ten Hag enjoyed an excellent first season at Old Trafford, as the club ended the campaign in the top four and achieved a first piece of silverware since Jose Mourinho’s stint at the club. It has been all charge this summer, as the squad has been shaped around ten Hag’s beliefs, with Andre Onana brought in to replace David de Gea, and Mason Mount adding further mobility in the midfield. Rasmus Holjund will also lead the line, but he will miss the opening few weeks of the season due to injury.
The Red Devils boast an excellent home record against Wolves, as they have lost just once in 12 previous encounters. Interestingly, this is the fifth time that United will open the season on a Monday night. They have gone on to win the league title on three previous occasions, including most recently in 2012-13.

It has been a miserable summer for Wolves, as they have parted ways with a number of first-team stars, including Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Raul Jimenez, and Adam Traore. Julen Lopetegui also parted company with the club earlier this week, with Gary O’Neil brought in with just three days to go until the start of the new season.
Wolves had been unbeaten across their opening four matches against United following their promotion back to the Premier League in 2018. However, they have now lost five of their previous six against the Red Devils. Wolves have lost their opening match in each of the previous two campaigns.

This looks a straightforward opening match for the Red Devils, and we expect them to have few issues on the opening day. Therefore, we will be siding with United on the spread.
