All eyes will be on the bottom of the Premier League standings on Saturday, as Sheffield United host Bournemouth. The Blades come into this match sitting 18th in the standings, but a victory could lift them out of the bottom three places this weekend. They should come into this match in good confidence after winning once in their previous two.
The Blades have also taken points from each of their two previous matches, which is as many as they had in their opening ten fixtures this term. Sheffield United played out an excellent draw against Brighton in their previous fixture, but they could have potentially been disappointed not to have won maximum points in that match.
Bournemouth’s position in the Premier League looks much stronger now than it did a few weeks ago, as they currently sit 16th in the standings. Their position has certainly been strengthened following a points deduction handed out to Everton. The Cherries have won two of their previous three matches, and they were excellent in their match before the international break against Newcastle.
Dominic Solanke was the standout star in that match, as the striker netted twice against the Magpies. A third win in four this weekend could lift the Cherries up to 15th in the standings. However, the Cherries have won just once in their previous eight matches against the Blades across all competitions.
Sheffield United vs Bournemouth Prediction
This is a pivotal match for both of these clubs at the wrong end of the Premier League standings. However, it could be challenging to overlook Sheffield United’s excellent record in this fixture. Therefore, we will be siding with the home win on Saturday.
