Match Preview
The start of another European season of soccer kicks off with the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday. Manchester City are the clear favorites in the betting after dominating the Champions League last term, beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the showpiece in early June. That success landed a memorable treble for Pep Guardiola’s side, becoming only the second England club to achieve the feat.
The Super Cup has been contested since 1973, but it has been a one-game showpiece since 2000. English clubs have competed in the match on 19 previous occasions, but they have only recorded nine wins. However, Premier League side Chelsea won the previous Super Cup involving an English side in 2021.

Spanish clubs boast an excellent record in the Super Cup, as they have won 16 previous editions. A Spanish side has also been represented in eight of the previous nine, with Sevilla playing in four Super Cups over that period. However, they are yet to win the competition, most recently losing 2-1 against Bayern Munich in 2020.
But, a lot will be expected of Sevilla this term, as they look to build on their Europa League success at the end of the previous campaign. There will be a fresh look to the team following the arrivals of Loic Bade, Federico Gattoni, and Djibril Sow.
Man City vs Sevilla Prediction
Man City has dominated the previous encounters between these sides, and that gives them every chance on Wednesday. We expect Guardiola to field a strong side for the Super Cup, and we would be willing to take a chance on them landing victory by covering the spread.
