Game Preview
A repeat of the Australian Open Final from earlier this season is set for Wednesday, as a place in the knockout round of the ATP Finals will be on the line when Zverev and Sinner collide. Sinner has recorded wins in each of the three matches between the stars this calendar year, dropping just one set in the process.
The Italian kicked off the ATP Finals with a dominant win over Felix Auger-Aliassime on Monday, dominating from the opening point to win in straight sets. Sinner won 89% of the points on first serve, and hit an impressive 73 winners in the 7-5, 6-1 demolition.
Alexander Zverev has had an extra day to recover after opening his ATP Finals campaign on Sunday with a relatively straightforward straight sets success over Ben Shelton. The German landed five aces in the win, and eventually secured the win following a dramatic tie break in the second set.
Zverev should be capable of throwing down a challenge to one of the world’s best this week after rediscovering his best form this calendar year. The two-time winner of the Tour Finals typically peaks at this stage of the season, but still, the odds will be against him on Wednesday.
Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev Picks
Sinner indicated his dominance in a straight sets win on Monday, and he already looks to be on a collision course with Carlos Alcaraz in the tournament. We fully expect the Italian to secure his passage through to the next round with a victory on Wednesday.
