Tiafoe has been in excellent form in Ohio so far, winning each of his opening two round matches without dropping a set. His spot in the round of 16 was secured on Monday after powering past 20th seed Ugo Humbert. Holger Rune is still widely considered to be one of the best young players on the ATP Tour. He has already shown his ability on hard courts in the U.S. this calendar year after reaching the final at Indian Wells. However, his form on the surface is largely inconsistent, as reflected after a first-round exit at the US Open last year.
Rune has required tie-breaks in three of the four games that he has played at the Cincinnati Open this year, but he still showed excellent character to get the better of Alex Michelsen in the previous round. However, despite winning 82% of the points on his first serve, he recorded a relatively low tally of just 68 winners.
