Brandon Nakashima vs. Ben Shelton Odds
Head-to-Head Record
Ben Shelton holds a dominant head-to-head record against Brandon Nakashima, having won all four of the previous meetings. Two of the wins have been recorded this calendar year, and both have come on a hard surface. The latest of those came in the round of 16 at Indian Wells.
Match Preview
Ben Shelton will be back on his preferred surface in the second half of 2025, and he will be hopeful of a deep run at the US Open later this year. Shelton has already shown his ability on the surface in recent years, winning the ATP 500 event in Japan and reaching the final in Switzerland last October.
His performances this season have been consistent, having reached at least the final eight in two of the Grand Slam events. Shelton continued his excellent form in the previous round of the National Bank Open after cruising to a straight-sets win over Adrian Mannarino. In the win, he recorded a staggering 16 aces.

Brandon Nakashima will be the massive outsider in the odds this week, as he is yet to show that he has the capability of competing against the very best in the world. The American hasn’t won an event on the ATP Tour since claiming success at the San Diego Open back in September 2022.
His performances in the Grand Slams this year have also been disappointing after suffering first-round eliminations in both the Australian and French Open events. He was also workman-like in the previous round after needing a tie break in the opening set to overcome Ethan Quinn. This is a bigger challenge.
Brandon Nakashima vs. Ben Shelton Picks
Nakashima is yet to prove himself against the most talented players on the ATP Tour, and that is unlikely to change in the round of 32 this week. Due to that, we expect Shelton to extend his winning sequence against his compatriot in Toronto.
