Match Preview
American star Amanda Anisimova will be playing in her first Wimbledon quarterfinal since 2022 on Tuesday. The star has an excellent record at the All England Club, and her game is perfectly tailored to the grass surface. That was reflected in the prep tournament before the start of Wimbledon at the Queen’s Championships.
Her progression through the tournament this year has been eye-catching, as she has dropped just two sets. In the previous round, she showed her character to fight back to overcome Linda Noskova in three sets. The 23-year-old could set up a mouth-watering clash with Aryna Sabalenka if she is able to get over the line on Tuesday.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is one of the most experienced players still in the draw at Wimbledon, but she is yet to win a Grand Slam title. This is her best showing at the All England Club since reaching the quarterfinals in 2016. However, she has enjoyed some reliable performances in Grand Slams in recent years, reaching the last eight in the 2025 Australian Open.
Pavlyuchenkova has dropped just two sets on her way to this stage of the competition, and she delivered a masterclass when beating Naomi Osaka in the third round. Last time out, she was able to get the better of Sonay Kartal in straight sets, despite making four double faults against her unseeded rival.
Head-to-Head Record
Anismova dominates the head-to-head meetings, having won all three of the previous encounters. That includes a three-set win at the WTA Tour event in Washington last year.
Amanda Anisimova vs. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Picks
Anisimova has been playing at a consistently high level throughout Wimbledon this year, and we believe that she has the skill to go all the way at the All England Club. However, she may be forced to a third-set shootout against a talented veteran in the form of Pavlyuchenkova on Tuesday.
