American star Sofia Kenin will be in action at Wimbledon on Thursday, as she plays her second round match at the All England Club. Kenin was at her best in the opening round, as she navigated a tricky assignment against compatriot Taylor Townsend. After a struggling first set, she eventually won 7-6, 6-2.
The 26-year-old looked like a potential dominant force in women’s tennis back in 2020 after winning the Australian Open and reaching the final at the French Open. However, since then, she has only reached the fourth round in two Grand Slam appearances. Kenin is also yet to better her third-round run at Wimbledon in 2023.

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro should be well-rested after enjoying a walkover win against Ella Seidel in the opening round. After a dominant first set, her opponent retired in the following set when the Spaniard was leading 3-2.
