A fascinating clash in the last eight of the women’s French Open is set for Wednesday. Coco Gauff has been in excellent form over the last 12 months in Grand Slam events, reaching the semi-finals on two occasions. She will also be competing in the last eight at Roland Garros for the fourth straight year.
Gauff has been clinical on the court in Paris this year, as she is yet to drop a set on the clay. Keys has been in solid form throughout her run to this stage, dropping just one set in her four matches. For the second straight round, she overcame an American rival in the fourth round, beating Hailey Baptiste in a closer encounter than the straight sets victory would indicate.

Coco Gauff holds the head-to-head advantage over Keys, having won two of the previous three encounters. However, the latest meeting between the rivals came in Madrid last year, with Keys winning 2-1 in sets.
