Event Preview

The grass court events for 2025 are well underway, and therefore, the attention will soon be on the women’s Wimbledon Championship. There have been few more challenging Grand Slam events to correctly predict than Wimbledon on the WTA Tour, with each of the last three winners being priced up as double-digit selections.

However, Aryna Sabalenka’s consistent nature in Grand Slams makes her the right favorite, despite the Belarusian’s recent defeat in the final of the French Open. The 27-year-old is a two-time semi-finalist at SW-17.

Coco Gauff’s ascent to the top of women’s tennis continued at Roland Garros with a memorable three-set win. But, the American is yet to progress further than the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Elena Rybakina is a fascinating contender, as she goes in search of a second win at Wimbledon. The 25-year-old has a game perfectly suited to the grass surface, and she will be hard to beat if at the very top of her game.

Madison Keys could be the standout American chance at Wimbledon this year. Keys enjoyed an excellent run to the last eight at Roland Garros, and has already won the Australian Open in 2025. Her win rate of 71% also merits considerable respect on the grass in London.

Women’s Wimbledon Outright Winner Pick

Ons Jabeur is always a player I like for the grass court events. She has bounced back from injury with fine runs to the quarterfinals at the WTA events in Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

Jabeur’s record at Wimbledon is also very strong, reaching successive finals in 2022 and 2023, and appearing in the quarterfinals in 2021. This could finally be her year to break her Grand Slam hoodoo.
