Event Preview
The thrilling TOUR Championship drew a close to the PGA Tour for the current season, but the golf schedule rolls on with the European Masters on the DP World Tour this weekend. This event was first staged in 1923, and the field will compete across 6,824 yards to win their share of the $3.25 million purse in the stroke play event.
Ryan Gerard will be a notable player involved this weekend, hot on the heels of his excellent P3 finish at the TOUR Championship. The American has been in excellent form throughout 2026, finishing in the top ten on seven occasions. However, the fact that he is yet to win a professional event this calendar year would be a minor concern.
Matt Wallace should be respected after his excellent T15 finish at last weekend’s British Masters. The Englishman finished just eight shots off the lead, and that was a fine showing following back-to-back top-ten finishes at the Rocket Classic and Wyndham Championship.
Two-time winner on the DP World Tour this season, Patrick Reed, shouldn’t be dismissed at the prices available this weekend. Meanwhile, players such as Harry Hall, Eugenio Chacarra, and Marco Penge bring reliable form into the weekend. Thriston Lawrence should be capable of outperforming his +6600 odds after twice winning the European Masters since 2022.

Davis Bryant could be an interesting betting angle this weekend. The American was an excellent T9 at the British Masters last weekend, and he has now finished in the top 15 in two of the previous three events. His excellent form in Europe also saw him finish T2 at the Austrian Open at the end of May. He is playing his way back into form, and his putting ability should put him in contention this weekend.
