Event Preview
Some of the world’s best players will be back in action on British turf this weekend, as LIV Golf UK is set for the JCB Golf & Country Club. A total distance of 7,381 yards will be covered by the field, with the stars involved aiming to win their share of the $20 million purse.
Jon Rahm’s Open chase ultimately ended in disappointment after shooting four-over in the final round. However, the Spanish star leads the LIV rankings at this stage after winning twice this season. Rahm has made the cut in eight of his nine appearances, and he has finished no worse than second in six of the previous nine rounds.
Bryson DeChambeau made headlines after picking up a two-shot penalty at The Open last weekend. However, he still finished a very respectable T14. The American won back-to-back LIV events in Singapore and South Africa earlier this year, and has twice finished as the runner-up in the last three rounds.
Joaquin Niemann won this event 12 months ago, and his consistent record makes him hard to dismiss. The Chilean has finished in the top ten in two of the last three events. Cameron Smith is another former winner of this event worth considering, but his patchy form remains a concern.
LIV Golf UK Picks
Tyrrell Hatton could be a standout bet to achieve home success this weekend. The Brit sits fourth in the LIV rankings, and was an excellent winner of the recent event in Andalucia. Hatton has also finished in the top ten on four occasions this season.
