U.S. Open: 3 Longshot Picks
The countdown is over, as the third golf major of the season will be staged at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, beginning from June 18. The world’s biggest stars will be in action, as they chase one of the richest prizes on the PGA Tour.
Scottie Scheffler will be a red-hot favorite to complete the Career Grand Slam in New York, but who are some of the interesting contenders at bigger odds who could be interesting longshot picks to consider at the U.S. Open?
U.S. Open Longshots
Brooks Koepka (+3500)
Brooks Koepka has made a reliable return to the PGA Tour this season, achieving top-20 finishes on four starts. His momentum looks to be solid ahead of the third major of the season after finishing T14 at the recent CJ Cup at TPC Craig Ranch.
Koepka has been a reliable performer in the majors so far this year, finishing T12 at The Masters, and T55 at the PGA Championship. Kopeka is a two-time winner of the U.S. Open, which includes a success in 2018 when the event was previously held at Shinnecock Hills.
A return to the course will suit his game, and everything suggests that he should be capable of mounting a challenge for major glory.

Sam Burns (+5500)
Sam Burns continues to go under the radar in the major betting, but the American has the kind of game that will be suited to landing a title at some point.
The 29-year-old will take confidence from his recent performances, finishing T26 at the PGA Championship before bouncing back to his best form at the recent Memorial Tournament when finishing an excellent T4.
The American has finished in the top ten on his last two starts at the U.S. Open, and was also T41 on his debut appearance at a major when appearing at Shinnecock Hills in 2018.
Alex Fitzpatrick (+15000)
It has been a consistent season for Alex Fitzpatrick, and a bold showing at a major championship is likely sooner rather than later. The Englishman’s consistency has seen him finish T9 at the Miami Championship, 4th at the Truist Championship and T6 at the Memorial Tournament over the last six weeks.
The 27-year-old has fine-tuned his game, and is starting to compete against the very best on the PGA Tour. Fitzpatrick is yet to win a major, but has made the cut on both starts, claiming an excellent T17 at the 2023 Open Championship.
