Saturday’s eleven-race card at the Toronto track has some big fields, and it’s headlined by graded stakes, including the Bessarabian and the Autumn Stakes. Here’s how we’re playing it.
Our Best Bets at Woodbine Today
Race 7: G3 Maple Leaf Stakes (1 1/4 Miles, All-Weather)
Saturday, November 7 | 4:06 PM ET | FanDuel TV
| Post | Horse | Trainer | Morning Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fortyfiveseventy | B Minshall | +1000 |
| 2 | Sultana | K Attard | +350 |
| 3 | Scat Girl | M De Paulo | +2000 |
| 4 | Lupa | J Carroll | +100 |
| 5 | Dixie Law | D Desruisseaux | +400 |
| 6 | Venencia | S Joseph Jr | +1200 |
| 7 | Hurricane Clair | M Wright Jr | +800 |
A field of seven goes to post on the all-weather track for the G3 Maple Leaf Stakes, and Lupa is our best bet on the card. The four-year-old filly was an excellent winner of the G3 Matron Stakes at Woodbine last time, building on the promise she showed when third in the G2 Canadian Stakes.
She has already proven herself at a higher level, which few in this field can say. Her latest three-length win also shows she handles the all-weather surface, and her morning line of +100 looks fair for the class edge she brings.
Race 10: G3 Bessarabian Stakes (7 Furlongs, All-Weather)
Saturday, November 7 | 5:42 PM ET | FanDuel TV
| Post | Horse | Trainer | Morning Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Home For A Rest | R Tiller | +2000 |
| 2 | Crystal Visions | S Simon | +2000 |
| 3 | Quadruple | J Carroll | +400 |
| 4 | Creed’s Gold | M Casse | +300 |
| 5 | Ultimate Authority | S Joseph Jr | +800 |
| 6 | Purr Factor | D Gittens | +2000 |
| 7 | Quiet Street | W Mott | +1200 |
| 8 | Reagan’s Flame | S Joseph Jr | +250 |
| 9 | Pondering | B Walsh | +1500 |
| 10 | Eponine | K Attard | +600 |
An interesting renewal of the G3 Bessarabian Stakes goes off at 5:42 PM ET, and it’s where we’ve found our value pick. Saffie Joseph Jr. has a strong hand, and Reagan’s Flame deserves respect, but Ultimate Authority could be the value at a morning line of +800.
The Practical Joke filly is winless in six starts this season, but she showed she’s back to her best last time out, finishing second in the G3 Ontario Fashion Stakes ahead of today’s rival Creed’s Gold. She was doing all her best work late over that six-furlong trip, and the step back up to seven furlongs should suit her. She stays well, too, as her dominant three-length win at Santa Anita for Tim Yakteen, before her move to Saffie Joseph Jr., showed.

How to Bet on Our Woodbine Picks
If you want to play along with our Woodbine picks, these racebooks accept US players and offer every bet you need at the Canadian track, from win, place, and show to exactas, trifectas, and the late Pick 5.
New to the races? Our guide on how to bet on horse racing covers every bet type. Here’s how to get started.
Racebooks Are Separate From the Sportsbook
At most online betting sites, horse racing doesn’t sit inside the main sportsbook. It has its own section, usually called the Racebook or simply Horses, in the top navigation bar or the main menu. That’s where you’ll find every track running today, including Woodbine, along with the full card, the morning line and the live odds.
Racebook Bonuses Are Different Too
The racebook runs separately from the sportsbook, so it usually has its own welcome offer, and it works differently from sports bonuses. Instead of a deposit match, you’ll typically get a risk-free bet on your first horse racing wager, or a rebate that pays back a percentage of what you bet, win or lose. A rebate adds up fast if you’re playing the races every day. Make sure you choose the racebook offer when you sign up, because a sportsbook bonus usually can’t be used on the horses.
How to Place Your Bet
- Pick a racebook from the table below and create your account.
- Make your first deposit and choose the horse racing welcome offer.
- Click into the Racebook section from the navigation bar.
- Select Woodbine, then the race you want to bet.
- Choose your horse and your bet type, enter your stake and confirm.
Before you lock anything in, check for late scratches and the live odds. The morning line is only the track’s estimate, and prices can move a lot before the gate opens.
