  • Marlon Vera vs. Pedro Munhoz is a fight between two bantamweights with zero losses inside the distance.
  • Vera was supposed to fight Cejudo at UFC 291, but Munhoz stepped in as his replacement.

Marlon Vera (20-8-1) and Pedro Munhoz (20-7-2) are among the greatest warriors in the history of the UFC Bantamweight division. Each of them throws everything they got at their opponents with zero concerns about getting hurt, which is why it’s kind of surprising that neither Vera nor Munhoz has ever been finished. Maybe that changes on August 19 at UFC 292?

Fight Preview

Marlon Vera was originally meant to fight Henry Cejudo at UFC 292, but “The Messenger” had to give up on the fight due to a shoulder injury. Instead, Vera is going to lock horns with Pedro Munhoz on August 19.

Vera was preparing to fight a wrestling genius but will now get to fight Munhoz who prefers striking duels. Actually, Munhoz is quite a different fighter from Cejudo. While Cejudo makes more than two TDs on average per fight, Munhoz’s average is 0.51. However, Munhoz lands way more significant strikes than Cejudo, with his average being 5.30.

That said, he’s actually very similar to Vera. Both land a lot of punches and kicks, and both have a negative striking differential. But despite being hit a lot in every single fight, neither Vera nor Munhoz has ever lost a fight inside the distance.

Marlon Vera vs. Pedro Munhoz Prediction

Marlon Vera and Pedro Munhoz are two of the most durable fighters in the UFC Bantamweight division, and we have no doubt their UFC 292 fight will go the distance as well. But who will win the judges’ scores in the end? We just have to go with Vera. He’s got the experience, the skillset, as well as training needed to beat Munhoz on August 19.
