Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov Preview
Gane regained his ground following a loss against Jon Jones with a win over Serghei Spivac whom he KOd in the second round last year in Paris. He’s been outside the ring for a while, but comes back ready according to his words, to attack the belt once again.
So far, the Frenchman has 12 wins and two defeats, one to Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 and the other against Jones at UFC 285. He won six of his battles via KO and three by submission. Gane is a Muay Thai guy with excellent kicking and punching techniques.
On the other side is yet another heavy-handed guy, Alexander Volkov. He used to be a Bellator heavyweight champ and was projected to compete for the UFC title, but he never had the chance to do that. After losing to Gane once before and Tom Aspinall later on, this is his last push for the title match.
Right now, Volkov has four wins in a row, KOs against Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Romanov, an Ezekiel choke against Tai Tuivasa, and a decision triumph over Sergei Pavlovich.
Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov Prediction
Many believe that Frenchman might be on the decline, and indeed we’ve seen some flaws against Tuivasa but on the other side, he is far more versatile than his upcoming rival, and that’s the reason why our betting pick here is Gane to win.
