Whittaker vs. Krylov Odds
Fight Preview
Whittaker lost the previous two of his bouts, one against Khamzat and the other against de Ridder, which was a signal for him to move up one division. It seems his weight cuts have been too much for the former champ, who will now find himself in a different environment.
The Reaper was once the most prolific middleweight, having everything needed for the belt: speed, reflexes, power, and, on top of that, skill. Though, as time went by, he became slower and not that explosive. After Adesanya exposed his flaws, Whittaker was never able to fully recover.
Krylov is a gatekeeper, though a very tough one. He has 31 wins and 11 losses in his career, with 29 of his triumphs coming via stoppage, 13 KOs, and 16 submissions. After losing to Dominick Reyes and Bogdan Guskov via KO, he rebounded with a knockout win over Modestas Bukauskas.
His recent losses have created plenty of doubt in Krylov, as he looked pale and showed little desire to win. The Russian has been more than mild and somehow reluctant to attack, something unusual for him in the past.
Whittaker vs. Krylov Predictions
Whittaker is a guy who already moved up one division and surely knows how to handle changes in speed and everything that goes with it. Krylov is in a limbo, even though he beat Bukauskas in the previous appearance, and it seems that the Russian presents a perfect “victim” for the newly introduced light heavyweight.
