Pep Guardiola’s Man City will be chasing a fourth straight Premier League title this season. They will kick off their campaign in the opening game of the new season on Friday, as they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley. City will be looking for a response after suffering defeat in the Community Shield on Sunday against Arsenal.
Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol are both in line to make their competitive debuts for City on Friday, as last season’s treble winners kick off their first campaign without Ilkay Gundogan since 2015-16. However, the champions will be confident of starting the season with a win after landing a massive 6-0 win over Burnley in the FA Cup last season.
