Match Preview
History was made by Luton in midweek, as the Hatters recorded their first victory of the new season at Goodison Park. It was nothing less than Luton deserved against the Toffees, as they bossed proceedings from the opening minute. The Hatters were particularly menacing from set-pieces, as Everton struggled to deal with Luton’s physicality.
Tom Lockyer and Carlton Morris scored the goals for Luton in their win at Goodison, with both coming in the opening 31 minutes. Everton did pull a goal back before the break, but Luton defended excellently throughout the second half to hang on for maximum points to kick start their push to escape relegation this term.

Burnley’s winless start to the new season continued last weekend, as they were routinely beaten on the road at St. James’ Park. The Clarets looked very short in the final third throughout that match, as they managed just two shots on target despite having 47% of the possession.
